Stopping service charges

1. Stop charges for backup and recovery.

In HYCU for AWS, unassign policies from all protected instances and buckets:

• To unassign policies from instances:

  1. In the navigation pane, click  Instances.
  2. Select all instances with assigned policies, and then click  Policies.
  3. Click Unassign, and then click Yes to confirm that you want to unassign the policies from the selected instances.

• To unassign policies from buckets:

  1. In the navigation pane, click  Buckets.
  2. Select all buckets with assigned policies, and then click  Policies.
  3. Click Unassign, and then click Yes to confirm that you want to unassign the policies from the selected buckets.

2. Stop charges for backup data storage.

1. Manually mark restore points of all instances and buckets as expired. For instructions, see “Expiring backups manually”.

   i Important  Only if multiple protection sets are available in your data protection environment. Make sure to do this for each protection set separately.

2. Remove all backup data created by HYCU for AWS from AWS (delete all automatically or manually created targets that contain only backup data, and delete all backup data that is stored on automatically or manually created targets that contain also other kind of data).

3. Remove all snapshots created by HYCU for AWS from AWS.

   For the snapshot naming conventions, see “Appendix A: Objects created by the service”. For instructions on how to remove snapshots, see AWS documentation.
